finally some progress here!

mood: ^.^;;
listening to: sucky Japanese TV
gaijin count: 39

WOAH. Note the gaijin count. This morning the gaijin were uncannily scarce. I usually see at least 1 or 2. But alack, none were to be found.

HOWEVER...as I was listening to my iPod on the way home today, I was aimlessly looking around, when I looked up and was shocked to see a giant pack of (blatantly American, yet somewhat friendly looking) gaijin right in front of me! And STARING and me! There were like 5 of them there, huddled in the corner. They kept staring at me, and then talking amongst themselves, probably about me. Heh. I don't need their gaijin attention. It was then I remembered I was sporting (idiotically) very gaijin garb. You see, people don't really wear shorts here, but my family thinks I don't have any clothes, so I wore something different today. They happened to be shorts. I'm NEVER wearing shorts again while I'm here. They make me look WAY too gaijin.

Anyways, they left at Sakae, so I didn't get a chance to examine them closer. Hm.

Yesterday I was having dinner alone with Host Madre (Rei was at cram school as usual...Host Padre working as usual...) so she asked me about my little obento (box lunch) and if everything was OK. I told her that nori (seaweed) was just fine with my rice (instead of these little fishy things). Then she was like "So you like weed?" in English. I CRACKED UP. I couldn't take it. I had to tell her. So I explained to her that weed means marjiuana. It was really really funny. I cracked up so hard. Oh man.

Today (in a few minutes) we're going to a Chunichi DORAGONS game. That should be interesting. And FINALLY! I got Airheaded-But-Nice-Sensei to give me (and Rainbow Girl and Queen of Hearts and Cool Italian Guy and Seamus and HAL) some extra work. And what was SO NICE was that the moment I asked and she understood what I was getting at, she ran out of the classroom right away and got it! It was amazing! I mean, when I asked Old-And-Annoying she was all annoying, and when I asked JAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-Sensei, she was all hesitant too. I LOVE Airheaded-But-Nice now.

I asked for C class work, so I got their homework as well as B class homework. If you can even call it homework. It 's like one page of crap, but oh well. Better that than nothing. At least I don't know some of the kanji on the C class homework sheet.

Also, Seamus is totally being weirdo. I'm sorry, but no way. He needs to get a life. Besides, he's going to be a high school senior. (Heh. Like everyone else - Queen of Hearts, Rainbow Girl, HAL and Cool Italian Guy...the list goes on). Also, Ghetto Boy really annoys me. However, today the Hot Japanese One (I have yet to make up a better nickname for him...hmmmm....) Came in and had lunch with us. He got moved up to a higher class than C. (no, there is no D. o.O;) Anyways, I really like him and he likes J-Pop. LOL. He and HAL are always hanging out, and it's really funny, since HAL cracks me up. Anyways, I'm rambling now.

ERM...nothing else really to report besides I got more keitai minutes. I kinda ran...out....infivedays. >.> Whoops. o.O;;;; At least I have a working phone, though. I went 3 days without telling. I must say, it was genius.

Anyways, I must go now. There is CHOCOLATE to eat.

JA!

+about me+

name: Erin
location: Nagoya, Japan
blurb: I'm an  American High School girl spending 6 weeks in Nagoya, Japan. Yes, I know Tokyo Tower isn't in Nagoya, but since I've never been to Nagoya before (stopping briefly at the train station doesn't count, OK??) I couldn't find any good pictures that represent it well. Which brings me to my point: I'm a newbie to Nagoya. (thus the name, nagoya n00b. am I not the cleverest person you've ever met?) Anyways, bear with me people. This is going to be a long six weeks!
